Florida Boasts World’s 14th Largest Economy

The Florida Chamber Foundation recently announced that Florida’s economy has climbed to 14th-largest in the world. The state has surpassed Australia and Mexico in gross domestic product, continuing on a projected path toward becoming a top 10 global economy by approximately 2030. “Florida’s rise to the world’s 14th largest economy is part of our Florida 2030 Blueprint plan and further proof that free enterprise works,” said Mark Wilson, President & CEO of the Florida Chamber of Commerce and Florida Chamber Foundation. “Florida continues creating jobs, attracting investment, welcoming new businesses, and giving families greater opportunity to succeed.”

The Chamber also highlighted Florida’s national rankings in several economic and business metrics, including:

  • 1st for New Business Start-Ups
  • 1st for its Higher Education System
  • 1st for Manufacturing Job Growth
  • 1st for Net Income Migration
  • 1st for New Business Migrations
  • 1st for Black-Owned Businesses
  • 2nd for Hispanic- and Women-Owned Businesses

The Chamber further noted that Florida maintains the nation’s lowest state debt per capita and continues to rank among the top states in the country for infrastructure investment and talent growth.
