Travis Miller to Discuss Homeowners Market at CAS Spring Meeting
Radey president Travis Miller will join WTW Senior Director Klayton Southwood in a presentation on the condition of Florida’s homeowners insurance market. The presentation will take place May 16, 2022, as part of the Casualty Actuarial Society’s spring meeting. Miller and Southwood will review some of the key historical reasons Florida’s homeowners market has been in crisis. They also will discuss the industry’s efforts over the last 15 years to respond to symptoms of the market’s underlying flaws. Miller and Southwood will identify ways market problems have affected the current availability and scope of multi-peril coverage even as premiums are substantially increasing. They will conclude by discussing possible reforms that might result from the upcoming special session of the Florida Legislature scheduled for later this month.
