Radey Shareholders Present to FAPL on Rulemaking and Rule Challenges – The Link Between Governmental Consulting and Administrative Law
Shareholders Karen Asher-Cohen and Angela D. Miles gave a presentation Friday to the Florida Association of Professional Lobbyists, entitled “Helping Your Clients with the Rulemaking and Rule Challenge Process.” Karen and Angela discussed in depth the convergence of administrative law with governmental consulting and how to achieve clients’ goals in the rulemaking process. The presentation focused on the importance of the rulemaking process after the Legislature adopts or amends a law, as well as the bases to challenge a rule.
Karen regularly represents insurers before the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation. As a former Director of Insurer Services and Deputy Commissioner at the Department of Insurance, Karen has a keen insight into the issues pertaining to operating as an insurer or other licensed entity in the State of Florida, as both counsel and as an expert witness.
In her administrative practice, Angela has represented corporate, non-profit and government clients at the administrative hearing level and on appeal. She practices all areas of Florida administrative law and appellate advocacy, with an emphasis on cases involving rule challenges, public procurement, and professional licensing and discipline.
