OIR Summit to Cover Current Regulatory Issues

OIR Summit to Cover Current Regulatory Issues

The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (OIR) is hosting the next edition of its industry summit on October 24-25 in Tallahassee.  The OIR has hosted several similar summits in the past to discuss emerging issues of interest to regulators and the insurance industry.

Early versions of the summit concentrated on the form and rate filing processes, including ways insurers could improve their filings.  The 2018 summit will continue to have sessions dedicated to filings.  However, the agenda also includes other topics of more general interest.

The summit will begin on October 24 with remarks from Commissioner David Altmaier.  The summit will continue with various breakout sessions tailored to life and health insurers as well as property and casualty insurers.  One of the highlights of the summit might be the leadership panel at 11:00 on October 25.  This panel will feature Commissioner Altmaier, Chief of Staff Mike Yaworski, deputy commissioners Susanne Murphy and Craig Wright, and General Counsel Anoush Brangaccio.  This will be an interactive discussion of key topics affecting the industry today.

Additional information about the summit can be found on the OIR’s website at www.floir.com.
