City prevails in lawsuit over worker’s compensation claim

The city of Ocala won a lawsuit against Safety National Casualty Corporation requiring the company to pay worker’s compensation benefits in excess of the city’s $500,000 self-insured limits, saving the city about $1.3 million. Safety National, however, has filed an appeal with the U.S. District Court of the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit in Atlanta.
