President Obama Nominates David Lopez as General Counsel for EEOC

This past week, the White House announced President Obama’s selection for the EEOC’s General Counsel position:  P. David Lopez.  Mr. Lopez is a seasoned litigator and has served the EEOC for more than 13 years in various capacities.  This year alone, Mr. Lopez appears as counsel of record on more than 10 federal opinions published on Westlaw.

Mr. Lopez earned his law degree from Harvard Law School in 1988 and has both public and private sector experience.  Before joining the ranks of the EEOC in 1994, he served in the Employment Litigation Section for the U.S. Department of Justice for three years.  Before that, he served for three years as an associate in a private law firm in Washington, D.C.
