FPL Group Named to Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index
JUNO BEACH, FL – FPL Group’s commitment to acknowledging the risks of climate change and effectively reducing its greenhouse gas emissions was recognized today when the company was named to the Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index for the second year in a row.
The Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index is produced annually by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), a not-for-profit organization that reports on the business risks and opportunities of climate change for investors. CDP represents 475 institutional investors with $55 trillion in assets under management.
Compiled by PricewaterhouseCoopers on behalf of CDP, the Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index highlights companies within the S&P 500 Index that excel in the area of climate change awareness and action. Index members are distinguished by disclosure of the risks and opportunities of climate change as well as the quality and effectiveness of programs put in place to reduce overall greenhouse gas emissions. FPL Group’s inclusion on the Index comes two weeks after the company was named to the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for sustainability performance in the top 20 percent of the 600 largest companies in North America.
