Volusia seeks input on FPL gas pipeline

Volusia County’s Public Works Department will host a public meeting Monday on the natural gas transmission pipeline proposed by Florida Power & Light.
The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Osteen Civic Center on New Smyrna Boulevard in Osteen.
Officials hope to obtain comments from the public at the meeting and formulate the county’s recommendation for the proposed pipeline.
Information about the project can be viewed at the Thomas C. Kelly Administration Center on Indiana Avenue in DeLand or online at dep.state.fl.us/siting or www.fpl.com/energysecure .
Residents or interested organizations unable to attend the meeting can submit written comments to Volusia County engineer Gerald Brinton at gbrinton@co.volusia.fl.us . Written comments will also be forwarded to officials at FPL.
