Florida ranked No. 5 business climate in US
Florida maintained its ranking at No. 5 among states with the best business tax climates, according to the annual study released Tuesday by the Tax Foundation. South Dakota topped the 2010 list as having the best climate, up from second place last year and switching places with Wyoming. The index measures the competitiveness of the 50 states’ tax structures and ranks them based on the levies that matter most to business and investment: corporate income, individual income, sales, property and unemployment insurance taxes. Florida has held the No. 5 spot in the ranking since 2006.
