Recycled phones benefit soldiers
Staff Report
DAYTONA BEACH — With parents equipping their children with new cell phones for the school year, officials at AT&T are encouraging them to donate their old phones to the Cell Phones for Soliders campaign.
The group recycles the phones and uses the proceeds to buy AT&T phone cards for U.S. troops stationed overseas.
Old cells phones can be dropped off at any AT&T store. Or donors can download shipping labels at www.att.com/recyclewireless or www.cellphonesforsoldiers.com.
Recycling phones also helps the environment.
