Marks takes hot seat at annual Roast & Toast

The spotlight Thursday night will be on Tallahassee Mayor John Marks at the 12th Annual Roast & Toast sponsored by the Capital Chapter of Florida Public Relations Association.
The event, Glitz & Glamour: An Evening With the Mayor, begins with a silent auction at 6:30 p.m. The festivities take place at the FSU University Center Club.
The fundraiser provides scholarships for students at the Florida State University College of Communication and the Florida A&M University School of Journalism and Graphic Communication.
Marks, known for his love of classic soul and rhythm-and-blues tunes from years gone by, will be right in step with the "old-school" theme, said Karen Kirksey, the FPRA’s publicity chair. Marks also is the managing partner of the Tallahassee office of law firm Adorno & Yoss LLP, and is a past member and chairman of the Florida Public Service Commission.
The Roast & Toast chair this year for the FPRA is Jamie Fortune.
