Editorial: Make auto insurance reductions mandatory
By Jan. 1, under a law the legislature passed last year, auto insurers were supposed to reduce premiums by 10 percent. The cut would be the industry giving back to consumers in return for legislators saving companies hundreds of millions in Personal Injury Protection (PIP) costs from crashes. Most notably, the legislature disallowed massage therapy and acupuncture as treatments under the $10,000 PIP coverage.
