Lisa C. Scoles practices primarily utility/energy law, labor and employment law, and administrative and corporate law. In her utility/energy law practice, she has appeared before the Florida Public Service Commission representing regulated utilities. Lisa monitors and updates clients on energy-related activity in the state and around the country that may affect energy policy. She also works closely with Susan Clark and Terry Deason, both former Florida Public Service Commissioners on energy and utility regulatory issues.
In her labor and employment practice, Lisa represents private and public sector employers in employment-related litigation, including Fair Labor Standards Act litigation, and the defense of race, age, disability and gender discrimination, sexual harassment, and whistleblower claims. Lisa also practices administrative law and has experience in bid protests, representing both state agencies and private companies.
In addition to undergraduate and graduate business degrees, Lisa has many years of hands-on procurement and management experience as a public sector employee and supervisor. This experience has proven invaluable in handling both public sector employment issues, in bid protest proceedings and in corporate litigation.
Lisa has been named to the Florida Super Lawyer Rising Star list, which is a peer-reviewed list of lawyers, for the past two years. Lisa graduated from the Florida State University College of Law in 2005, ranked second in a graduating class of 274. During law school, in addition to being on Law Review and Moot Court, Lisa was honored to serve for a semester as an intern for the Honorable Robert L. Hinkle in the Northern District Court of Florida.
