OIR Conducts Public Hearing on Citizens Rate Filings
The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation will hold a public hearing on Citizens Property Insurance Corporation’s pending rate filings today in Tallahassee. The hearing begins at 9:00 a.m. in the Senate Office Building.
The hearings will allow the Office of Insurance Regulation to publicly discuss and receive comments on the pending filings for Citizens for policies in the Multi-Peril and Wind Only Coastal Account (CA), Commercial Lines Account (CLA), and the Personal Lines Account (PLA). These accounts include Citizens’ homeowners policies, dwelling fire policies, mobile home policies and commercial business. The overall rate changes proposed by the filings are in the 3-10% range, but territorial changes can be higher (subject to statutory caps on Citizens’ rate changes).
